I had the distinct pleasure recently of dining at the Med Hookah lounge in Madison, WI, which aside from having great Mediterranean food also feature middle eastern dancers (aka bellydancers, though some don’t like that term).

One of the performers there is Arielle, a teacher at the Madison Multicultural Dance Center with Mona N’wal and others. Though very young, Arielle’s been dancing since she was fourteen, and that leads to quite a bit of experience as well as talent.

One of the benefits of being part of the B5Media family is that there are a lot of other bloggers out there doing neat things – though I occupy a pretty unique niche here in the lifestyles channel, and most of the celebrity watches are less about the performing arts than individual celebs.

…and I’m not surprised at all. She had as much talent as Danny, and was more likeable than anybody else. I honestly suspected she had it from the Scream during the Wade Robson solo.
I didn’t actually get to watch the final show – and from what I hear, I’m a little lucky, as Cat made a truly valiant effort to survive wardrobe’s attempt to portray her as a pregnant tulle monster. OK, they get points just for having a Tom Waits song at the beginning. Looks like more Wade Robson to me, but then again, I’m just used to zombies. Labelle, my viewing companion, suggested that this is the "Harry Potter" tribute, with these as the Mer People. I don’t remember them too well.

My friend Nyxx roundly chastised me last week for being so lax in my SYTYCD coverage. I can’t really blame her; to be honest, it was a bit of stage fright, because I’d done a good job on it the week before (even got a mention on Blogging SYTYCD!) and I felt the pressure to come up with something even more entertaining

Lauren Solo Week 7Uploaded by mickeymcc

I’ll be honest – after finally seeing this solo, I was surprised that she didn’t get voted off – until I remembered that at this point in the competition, it’s all about the audience that had already voted – and there’s no way that Lauren would not have gotten more votes than Sara based on their performances the night before.
Makes me sad, though, because unless she tears it up on Wednesday, she’s not going to be around…
