A couple of neat things going on in my Hometown:
“The Maple Bluff Mystery opens BST’s 2008 season with a bang and promises to take the audience on a hilarious and delightful journey through miscommunication and mayhem. The show comes from the twisted mind of writer/director Scott Rawson and premieres Friday, January 18. Rawson, a Broom Street Theater veteran, got his start at BST in 2005 as an actor, appearing in 667: The Number of the Neighbor of the Beast and hasn’t let up since. The Maple Bluff Mystery marks Rawson’s debut as a playwright and director.” – the Isthmus
And closer to my heart, tonight is the 47th Annual Madfest Juggling Extravaganza, an annual event that I’ve been stage managing for about 4 years now (hmm, maybe 5?). It’s a bit of a challenge – the performers arrived last night, they’ll be coming to do a tech/cue-to-cue this afternoon, and then at 7pm we open to a sold-out house and do a two hour show.
Yes, that’s right, we aren’t bothering with anything so plebeian as a “rehearsal”. Don’t be silly!

This play is great, even if I am married to the writer. I didn’t read the play before hand as I wanted to be surprised and boy was I. I’ve seen it twice already, and will see it many times more. Broom Street has many great actors.
