SYTYCD Results: Way Off the Mark
Wow. Was I ever wrong.
Looking at my notes from wednesday night:
"Lauren & Dominic: oh…oh…oh..[note: that's me drooling over TEH HAWT that is Lauren]. He totally made up for last week. –CHEMISTRY. Adam: "You were fantastic posers." It expanded the Rhumba in the way hip hop was "expanded" a few weeks ago."
Conversely:
"Sara & Danny: They lost it. Started good, sometimes, we watched him more than her as he fell more and more out of sync. Wardrobe = EEEEEK!! It was almost a joke. We are looking at the bottom two right here, but Sara will stay."
It’s enough to make me think that I should turn in my reviewer’s card. The buzz all over the web is that Lauren’s going to go next week. Personally, I’m getting less impressed with Lacey and more impressed with Lauren every week, but…who knows.
And as a farewell to Dominic (and a paean to Lauren), in case you missed it, here was their rhumba:
If anyone finds Lauren’s solo from last night online, please let me know?

Yeah, I was a little surprised to see Sara go as well, only because she HAS been growing and has been doing SO well in every genre thrown at her. However, the choreography unfortunately does come into play, and she was the unfortunate victim of a lame hip-hop routine.
As far as Dominic, I think he’s grown as well, but after being bombarded with Danny’s pirouettes, Neil’s superflips and boy-next-door look, and Pasha’s charm, I don’t think America could vote any other way.
Finally, as an aside, I wish the judges would stop saying things like “America got it wrong.” If I ask you what your favorite ice cream is, and you say “Chocolate,” I can’t say… “Wrong!” In the same sense, Cat keeps saying we’re looking for America’s FAVORITE dancer, not necessarily the BEST dancer. As American Idol has taught us, there is more to performance than the technical stuff.
