They’ll make a killing…
This post is dedicated to my friend Deadcat, who may or may not have been aware that his idol, Bruce Campbell, was NOT in fact picked to star in “Evil Dead: the Musical.” No, it’s a real actor–whups, sorry, I really meant to say “another” actor (cough) by the name of Ryan Ward.
Still, it sounds like a sort of “Sweeney Todd” meets “Blue Man Group”:
When the audience enters Stage One at the New World Stages complex to attend EVIL DEAD: THE MUSICAL, they are greeted with an unusual sight: the first three rows of seats are carefully covered with plastic sheeting. This is the “splatter zone”, where patrons are issued disposable ponchos to shield them from the stage blood and body parts that spew from the stage during each performance.

Hmmm…+10 points for doing a post about Evil Dead and Bruce Campbell, and -1000 for the “actor” (cough) crack – remind me to lend you “If Chins Could Kill” one of these days, he’s very much a hard working actor that places more of his emphasis on professionalism and less on ego.
On a side note…it kills me that I didn’t get to see this in previews in Chicago…maybe it’ll swing by Madison as part of a touring group in 10 years…
