Last Comic Standing: The First To Leave

Eliminated Comic “April Macie”

Episode 5 of NBC’s The Last Comic Standing waved a fond farewell to April Macie and a “I thought that she would never leave” to Stella.

We began our voyage on the Queen Mary where the cast will be living together until they are hoisted overboard.  Sorry for the oceanic metaphors.  I will try to control myself.

The challenge for our comics this week was to heckle each other.  The audience would choose two winners, the best heckler and the best comedian.  These two people received immunity for the week.

We, of course, had to have drama…it is a “reality” tv show after all.  Roz and Stella helped us with that.  I thought that they were going to throw down.  Stella is an easy target.  Her comic pacing is horrendous…I never even once chuckled; and the annoying attitude is not just a stage persona.  I never thought that I would be screaming for someone to shut-up the pregnant woman.  Does she work at being that annoying?

In the end, Stella–annoying “yes”, funny “no” and April–pretty “yes”, funny “ehh” deservedly received the boot.  I have yet to figure out how some of these people made it this far.  There seemed to have been far more talented comedians that were left adrift.  Oh, yeah…it is a “reality” show.

Stay tuned next week for the next installment of NBC’s The Last Comic Standing.
