Zach Braff – Famous People Who Will Talk to You
At The Garden State Blog Zach Braff, who you know as JD on Scrubs (please to be excusing the makeup-laden photo), posts various things and keeps his fans appraised of what’s going on. Recently he didn’t have time to post, so as an atonement he made up a video thank-you for all his fellow bloggers. Check the top of the page.
This guy is as cool as Wil Wheaton about fan appreciation.
Check it out!

Blog of the month week – Greg Hester Jazz
I know, I know, I have been remiss in bringing you all that’s best in movies, music, dance and theatre. I, in a word, suck, but this blog is enough to bring me out of hiding.
The blog of the week this week is, Greg Hester Jazz. The blog is frequently updated and offers a great resource for the casual jazz fan looking for music opinions, links and photos.
Big swing bands have come and gone – some good, some even great – but since the early forties, the one quality for which all big bands have striven (strived?) – …read more

Katie-Kate-Cruise-Holmes-Freak Update!
Fabulous Reader, I would summarize the scientology developments with Katie Holmes, but honestly, Olivia Drab does it a thousand times better than I do:
Apparently, every time a woman screams “ASS WHORE!”, an alien loses his wings.
Also, just so you know I’ve been contacted by someone who is familiar with the Holmes family (and presumably her mother), and apparently Katie is 27 and can do whatever crazy dumbass shit she wants, like marrying freakman. The rumor has it that the fam is not overjoyed at the latest developments.
Rumor, but entirely feasable, because if she were my daughter I would …read more
Katrina and Famous People
I don’t know about you, but I have such a mixed reaction to stars showing up at the scene of devastation.
On the one hand, they can bring attention to something that people should see.
On the other hand, they can steal attention from something that should not be about them.
My anger that the Today show flew Harry Connick Jr. in to the New Orleans area during a time when people desperately needed lifting out, is mighty. However, he’s doing an awful lot to raise money for the cause. I think that he and the Today show could have …read more
Tommy boy and Katiediddums – Now With Even More Sacchrine!
Where is Katie’s mother??
I’m dead serious here. WHERE IS THIS CHILD’S MOTHER?
Apparently, Mr. Smarmyman Cruise has suggested to Katie that she take his last name and, because he calls her “Kate” has suggested that he mangle her perfectly good stage name and become “Kate Cruise”.
Good lord above.
At least “Katie Cruise” has some sort of flow and rhythm to it. I wish Mrs. Kate would consider certain facts:
A. Mr. Cruise has not had an unimitgated box office hit since Mission: Impossible in 1996. Ten years ago.
B. Mr. Cruise has an irritating habit of linking himself with …read more
Your Favorite Movie Experience
I apologize for the month-long hiatus, folks, but hopefully the PAB is ready to be up and raring to go again!
To start us off with a bang I thought that I’d relate my most enjoyable moviegoing experience and invite you to do the same.
In 1987 my father took me to the premier opening of The Princess Bride in Washington D.C. I don’t recall the name of the specific theatre, but I do vividly remember sitting in the first row of the balcony seating and clutching a warm bag of popcorn as the opening scenes rolled.
I know that I don’t …read more

Blog of the week – Acting Like A Kid – A Stage Mom Blog
Charlie, as you may have heard, is cute. Tremendously cute. The kind of cute where people stop and stare kind of cute. They all want his blond, blue-eyed, cabbage patch kid goodness to beam at them in delight and chortle his little baby chortle. The boy is seriously adorable.
For a short time we considered getting him into baby modeling. It took the barest minimum of research before I decided against it. The process involves quite a bit of “hurry up and wait” and many boring hours for your little one. The business also requires …read more
Goodbye, Peter Jennings
This is how totally out of it I’ve been. Over at the Genetics and Public Health Blog Hsien has posted about Peter Jennings dying this past Saturday.
He was 67 years old and had lung cancer.
I will never forget Peter Jennings. I’m strangely sad that he’s gone and wish I had noted the day. His coverage of the September 11th bombings helped me work through that terrible day. It’s cliche, but I felt like he was in it with me.
Jennings led the network’s coverage of the Sept. 11 attacks and America’s subsequent war on terrorism. …read more
