Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Or: Sorry, we were down for the count
The “teething” that I spoke of in the last post turned out to be a COLD FROM HELL that still has it’s lingering suckers upon my child and I. I have an ear that’s in fairly bad shape and I’m only just now rejoining the land of the living. Thank you all for your patience.
However, while I was home sick Andy and I did take the opportunity to sit together on the couch and watch a movie. One of our former favorite pastimes that has gone the way of the dodo post-baby.
Last Christmas we got Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and 11 months later hadn’t had a chance to watch it. We sat down together and watched it. I was prepared for dark and for weird; but I wasn’t prepared for happy. It’s amazingly hopeful and for the strangeness of its premise, it’s amazingly real.

Jim Carry was more believable as the strange and quiet man to me than he has ever been, and, frankly, who does not have a crush on Kate Winslett? Even Kirsten Dunst didn’t annoy me in this film. And she always annoys me.
Go see it. If you’ve seen it, tell me what you think.
