Fame or Famine

I don’t know about you, but I have such a mixed reaction to stars showing up at the scene of devastation.
On the one hand, they can bring attention to something that people should see.
On the other hand, they can steal attention from something that should not be about them.
My anger that the Today show flew Harry Connick Jr. in to the New Orleans area during a time when people desperately needed lifting out, is mighty. However, he’s doing an awful lot to raise money for the cause. I think that he and the Today show could have …read more

Where is Katie’s mother??
I’m dead serious here. WHERE IS THIS CHILD’S MOTHER?
Apparently, Mr. Smarmyman Cruise has suggested to Katie that she take his last name and, because he calls her “Kate” has suggested that he mangle her perfectly good stage name and become “Kate Cruise”.
Good lord above.
At least “Katie Cruise” has some sort of flow and rhythm to it. I wish Mrs. Kate would consider certain facts:
A. Mr. Cruise has not had an unimitgated box office hit since Mission: Impossible in 1996. Ten years ago.

I apologize for the month-long hiatus, folks, but hopefully the PAB is ready to be up and raring to go again!
To start us off with a bang I thought that I’d relate my most enjoyable moviegoing experience and invite you to do the same.
In 1987 my father took me to the premier opening of The Princess Bride in Washington D.C. I don’t recall the name of the specific theatre, but I do vividly remember sitting in the first row of the balcony seating and clutching a warm bag of popcorn as the opening scenes rolled.
