As Always, Ella - A Performer’s Perspective - Issue #2

by Krissy Baker on July 6th, 2005

Ella hung out with her family over the July 4th holiday and brought up some of the questions I asked with her parents. Here are her thoughts:

I was actually talking about you and the blog on Sunday night- we were having dinner with family up in the burbs and people started talking about where I get my theatrical side from…I brought up what I had said about my parents to you for the AAE series, and my dad confessed that if he wasn’t as petrified of being onstage he probably would have done theater too. I was shocked- my dad has to give speeches, etc at conferences and meetings all the time. I had no idea

And then they tell me this story about, “well, David, there was that one time…” Apparently when my mom was pregnant with me, my dad got suckered into doing a charity event talent show. He got a bunch of guys together, dressed in drag, and did the can-can kick line while singing “Red Hot Momma”

And it all starts to come full circle.

More info on Ella tomorrow!
